In addition to peer-reviewed academic research, I very much enjoy writing projects that blend academic research and public discourse in accessible venues. Over the past few years, I have written a few blog posts, op-eds, and investigative reports. At the moment, I am a blogger at the Centre for Free Expression at Ryerson University and a freelance writer with Sault Online, a local news site in my hometown. Below you can find a selected assortment of my writing, some of which is academic and some of which is non-academic. In the future, I will be applying some of my academic research skills in freelance investigative reports that tackle issues specific to Sault Ste. Marie and northern Ontario.
